Hi everyone,
I'm working on restoring a Nakamichi deck and came across a cassette tray listed as being for the RX‑202. I'm considering whether it might also be compatible with the RX‑505.
I understand that both decks use Nakamichi's UDAR (Unidirectional Auto Reverse) mechanism :contentReference[oaicite:2]{index=2}, but I also know that their transport systems differ significantly — the RX‑505 is a top‑of‑the‑line model with discrete 3‑head classic transport, whereas the RX‑202 uses a Sankyo transport with a combined record/play head
Has anyone tried swapping an RX‑202 tray into an RX‑505? Did it fit mechanically? Were there any issues with alignment, latch engagement, or mechanical compatibility?
Thank you for any insights or experiences.
