Canadian using Digikey

I encountered something a bit odd IMO??
I was making up an order from Digikey and I never noticed I was using the US (com.) site. I got to the checkout and then realized my order was in American funds but also that the order of over $100.00 still had shipping cost and a tariff fee?? When I order to Canada the shipping is free and never a tariff fee even tho I'm getting these goods from the USA? These fees when converted cost around 38.00 more . Just something I noticed by accident and was pleasantly surprised we were getting this break some how!

It's happened to me. Even when I was using .ca it still had $ in USD. I phoned support and they fixed the issue.

Nice we are getting the shipping and tariff break from our orders ( over 100.00) !

I agree! I find Mouser a lot slower for delivery tho

That free shipping to other countries is what I don’t like. Bigger orders in US have higher shipping fees. Makes me feel like I’m supporting foreign orders a little bit.


The tariffs are just the US govt’s way of making Americans pay more and should not be charged to outside US sales. Digikey will keep track of numbers sold out of country and not have to pay the tariff.
