cannot hear the difference of the SA-9800

Let's face it, the HPM-40 and HPM-60 speakers are pretty hideous. Instead of messing around with recapping the SA-9800, go audition some high quality modern speakers.

HPM-40 hideous? Really, I've been enjoying mine for about a 2years. Replaced some Boston CR-8s.

I will agree with the speaker statement, though none of my speakers are top of the heap I can say that they make a big difference. I have owned polk monitor 10s, sda2s, pioneer cs-603s, realistic t-200s, infinity sm-152s, still own 2 pair of d-9s, fisher 66s, and a pair of avid 100s and for some reason I keep getting the avid 100s back out they just have a nice easy to listen to sound from zeppelin to Sinatra they just do it all and do it well to my ears anyway.
