Canton CT 90 grill removal

First time posting here.

I just picked up a nice pair of Canton CT 90 Speakers. $300 and 65 miles round trip -- gotta love Craigslist! Seem to work great and I look forward to hooking them up with my Sansui AU-717 TU-919. I really like the Mahogany veneer finish. Trouble is they are considerably scratched up. I am attempting to scuff them up the apply some Howards. Great so far.

I don't see how to remove the metal grills. I would prefer not to damage them. Anyone in Audiokarma land know how this can be accomplished?

Mine are GLE 50, but maybe similar? I got a set of picks at Lowes. Start at a corner, shift to adjacent corner. Pull slowly. Work your way around.
