Canton karat 100 curb find w/ subwoofer

Hey all - LA quarantine luck strikes again and I am the proud / maybe temporary owner of a set of canton karat 100 speakers with subwoofer problem is I already have pioneer Andrew Jones bookshelf speakers. Wondering which to keep? I love the Andrew Jones and the cantons sounds thin without the subwoofer but I need more speaker cable to hook that up and run a/b setup
Any advice would be awesome. Thanks!

My money's on the Cantons. Get the subwoofer hooked up; you don't need any fancy cable, any zip cord will work fine for some preliminary listening.
 
Cantons found on the curb?! Ok now im jealous. The Cantons like power. If I'm correct thats a PLUS C Sub. I agree it's not the best sub in the world but with some methodical placement, itll hold its own.
 
It seems to be abundantly clear that I am hanging out on the wrong friggin' curbs :)

I suspect the Cantons will win, but in either case, definitely keep the sub -- it will significantly enhance the sound with either set of mains.

Speaker wire is VERY cheap, I can't imagine how that could be a concern. Maybe stroll back to the curb and see if anybody left any Kimber speaker cable lying around. :)

Ended up booking them up and they do sound nice! I’ve got them running through a vintage tandberg 2030 so not the most powerful but it sounds nice. Waiting on some funds so I can fully restore my first curb find a Yamaha ca-2010 then the system will be complete. :beatnik:
 
Canton Karat 100's versus "Andrew Jones" Pioneer speakers? Pffffttt...

Where are these curbs at? :D
 
I had the AJ Pioneer's. Nice for small rooms and non-critical listening.

The Canton's are far superior, IMHO. I sure hope you sell the AJ's and keep the Cantons. However, it's your call, and great save !!!!
 
Oh, and use any wire you can find. Get an old lamp you don't care about, or that is broken. Lamp wire works splendidly.
