Canton Plus C sub/sat system

jhal

Titanium Bliss
I just won a set on Ebay, (at a reasonable price) I am so happy! They will need some cleanup, but look to be in good condition otherwise. These will become the speakers for my computer setup.

The seller is on the east coast of Florida (I am on the west), so I should have them by the end of the week. I hope they get here in good shape.

I have always wanted a pair since I use to install Canton car speakers way back in the late 80's and early 90's. The sats have a very close resemblance to another popular, mostly black aluminum, two-way speaker that many people, including myself, love. I will post pics and listening impressions once I have them in my grimy claws.:nutz:

Here's an auction pic for now (I see Infinity's in the background:scratch2:).

I have a set of these satellites. They are a bit too bright for my taste but should probably balance out well with the matching sub. They are nicely made.

Same here- the Plus S sats are a bit bright but very good speakers for their size. The Plus C had a passive crossover inside, pretty sure.

Let us know what you think when you get them.

Update

Well, they finally arrived today, and they cleaned up nicely. There are a couple of spots where the finish is chipped, but they are very small and a Sharpie marker makes a great touch-up tool:yes:.

Sound? Huge soundstage that extends way beyond the desk they are sitting on. It actually can put instruments benind the computer monitor! Powered by my HK amp, which I think is 150 watts/ channel of high current motivation (these speakers are 4 ohms), they can give my main system a run for it's money. The HK PM-665 can run 4 ohms easily, BTW. The only problem I have is from stuff "walking" across the desk when I crank them:D. This little system rocks! I'm not sure what the crossover point is between the sub and sats, I will have to research it a little bit. The sub is a sealed enclosure, as are the satellites.

Yes, they are a little bright, but it doesn't bother me too much, since my B&W's are like that. My hearing isn't what it used to be, thanks to my party days throughout my 20's and early 30's.

I love this little system!

Here's the obligatory pics.

By the way, crossover frequency between the subs and satellites is 120hz, I just found out by looking at the back of the sub cabinet.
