Capehart Stereo???

UnGrounded

Well-Known Member
Anyone have any possible info on this stereo amp?

I'm fairly certain it is a 1940's Capehart.

It has four 6V6G's and some hefty iron.

It looks like it was repurposed as an instrument amplifier. It's in an old modified console cabinet (note the mystery schematic glued on the cab, to the right of the amp).

Any thoughts on what this amp is, or what it would be good for??

Capehart was some good stuff...looks like stereo with the matching tx and two RCA jacks,,, can you take a pic of the bottom? May help identify it further...

Thanks for the input everyone.

I'll try to get a photo of the guts tomorrow.

Tube lineup: one 6AU6, two 6J5, one 6K6, four 6V6, one 5U4.

I wonder what the smallest tranny is. Is it likely related to the lone 6K6 tube? If it's a frickin' choke, it's larger than the majority of the output trannies I find. "Massive iron" indeed!
