Cartridge for Yamaha PX-2

I have used a vintage AT20Sla, a newer AT150MLX and ANV, an Ortofon 2M Black, a Dynavector Te Kaitora Rua and an Ortofon Cadenza Black. All mentioned cartridges sounded very good and I never noticed any problem with the resonance frequency. As mentioned earlier, VTA can be adjusted while playing a record.

Both match the high mass tonearm well and put the overall cartridge/tonearm resonance in the right range according to the guide on the Vinyl Engine. The EVO III's body is tall, however, which reduces the PX-2's VTA adjustment range.

IMO medium mass. In fact, I fabricated an ultralight "head shell" for running MMCx B&O cartridges on the PX2 that brings the effective mass down to ~11g (low mass). I had to make a CW that was 2/3 the weight of the Yamaha's to balance it.

Cracks me up when this happens.....but, who knows, maybe Hugo is still looking for that perfect cart for his PX-2??? :beatnik:
