Cartridge/Stylus for Pioneer PL-7

Can anyone recommend a replacement cartridge/stylus for a Pioneer PL-7 turntable?

From what I can gather on the net, this turntable originally came with the Pioneer PC-3MC cartridge and stylus.

Thanks for your help.

What are you trying to achieve? Do you have a phono stage capable of supporting moving coil cartridges? Do you want basic vinyl playback, or are you going up the performance ladder?

Good question. I'm new to vinyl, and so am probably looking for something to whet my whistle. Better than BOTL, but not more than $100 let's say.

Thanks.

I would start with a AT95e. It's moving magnet. Very reasonably priced within your budget. Has an upgrade path by moving to the LPGear Sa (shibata) stylus w/o having to dismount or re-setup. And, is a well respected starting point.

Once you have your game together and you have some experience setting up cartridges, you can move up the ladder and you'll have a known starting point :)
