I was playing aeound a bit with a turnable and trying to figure out what cartridge I should mount on it. When I got to one of my 412 mk3s I figured that it sounded great so I left it on the tt. However after 40 minutes of listening it suddenly started sounding muffled, kinda similar to how a turntable sounds muffled when there is old grease on the solder joints of the phono cable. Anyhow I figured the stylus was just dirty so I cleaned it but that didn't improve anything. I actually own 2 of this cartridge so I tried the stylus with my other cartridge and that sounded fine. So does anyone know what happened here ? Did my cartridge just die on me ? I was thinking maybe the headshell leads where to loose so I tried it with a different headshell aswell but again no cigar.
