Hi, You obviously do not realise that all VPI T/A's have a low Eff mass of around 10 to 12 grams. Which are totally unsuitable for the Koetsu range of carts, that need High Eff Mass arm of at least 22 grams for the Black & even better 30 grams for all the others!!.

Also Koetsu do not like undamped arms.

I have two SME 3009, one /S2 Imp and one Series II, the heavier arm. Mark is trying to get one from me since he has the Series II Imp with non-removable headshell and light weight. Don’t know if I need that these days.

I know that's what everyone says but I found the 12" 3d arm with the black sounds very nice and the heaviest of the 12" metal wands with brass head shell screws and 180gram weight sounds amazing with the Rosewood. I've also used both cartridges on a Kuzma 4 point 12" arm with this table and didn't find either of them to be lacking in comparison.

With that said I have thought about getting a FR-64s arm with many say is an amazing arm for Koetsu carts.

Well, I think all the ones in that picture have cartridges on them. Experiments dealing with arm mass architected to reduce confounders aren't trivially - 5 same-model bodies on 5 different EM arm wands minimum.

I have white modeling puddy in the nose of my headshells to make them weight the same. Makes swapping them in and out quick and easy. I run the same tracking weight.

Been enjoying an old Shure M92ed lately with a new elliptical stylus. Cannot hear difference between it and a M97xe with a Jico SAS stylus.

I have two turntables, a Thorens TD160 Super with an SME 3009 S2 arm and a Denon DP80 with its DA309 arm, and on both I’ve mounted the same MM cartridge: an AudioNote IQ3, considering it an endpoint. So I stopped swapping cartridges. I’ve used Shure, Grado, Mofi, before settling on the ones I have on my turntables.
