still new to this amp and pre amp stuff....i got my hands on a bunch of gear today...one on the peices is a carver m-500t. and a carver c2 preamp.....was wondering how i would go about using the amp with a realistic sta 2000d receiver....i am not sure how i can hook it up .....i know about the main in pre out on the sta but not sure if i hook up the pre out to the main in on the carver....thought i should ask first before i do something that cant be fixed

Well the amp and the pre amp go with a tuner. A seperate tuner. However, you can do what I did. My pioneer tuner is on the fritz. So I took my sansui 5000x (stereo) and plugged it into the Tuner. Using the tape out on the sansui to goto the preamp tuner in. As for the pre-amp and amp. The pre-amp should have a out. R/L out and that goes into the amp. The pre-amp most of the time or just think of it as a switch box. It just switches to different stuff.
