Carver M1.0t Most Underrated Amp?

For me, this is among the "Most Overdesigned amplifiers ever made". The current Bob Carver tube amplifiers for me are Carver's best ever, full stop, underlined three times.
 
Fun thread... long time fan of Bob's work here as well. I bought my C-1/M-500t new in the mid 80s. In the mid 90s, I added a second M-500t to power my newly acquired Carver Amazing Platinum mk IV's... Since then, I've added a pair of 1.5t's, a pair of 1.0t's, a pair of 4.0t's, and a C-4000t to my arsenal... so yea... I'm a fanboy...

I think you're getting overdue a set of VTA 350s! At which point you go from being a fanboy, to becoming a regular touring groupie.

I just finished listening to Jon and Vangelis' masterpiece from 1983, their Private Collection album. Even through my cheap Audiosphere Acoustic Profiles PSL 8.4 speakers, the sound is exquisite and lush.

I am wondering how this Carver amp compares to a Hartman Kardon Citatation 7.0 amp? I’m using the HK to power my mids and highs in my Infinity QLS-1’s. And an Emotiva XPR- 5 to drive the Watkins 12” woofers on the QLS-1’s. The HK is sweet in the upper range in bridged mode 450 watts and high current and can handle 1 ohm. But curious if the Carver is even more musical? Those QLS-1’s are incredible.
 
One stupid day, I obtained a 1.5. Was elated, plugged it into my kitchen outlet, and it tripped the breaker.

"Well, ****." I thought. Must be messed up. Traded to a guy, telling him it needed work.

I got a call 1 hour later. He was laughing and telling me how great it sounded, was positively giddy. As it turns out, that breaker was WAY underrated for that beast.

Been sick ever since, lol. As an aside, I think he died not long after, and while that sucks, at least he got to enjoy a real "scroe" at my expense.
 
After reading thru this revived thread again, I actually think the M0.5t is the most underrated of the Carver lineup. I've had the 1.0 and it does everything it's hyped up to do, and I can only imagine the MK II upgrade improving it. I've also had the 1.5 and I still have the 4.0, and while they are fantastic powerful amplifiers, the 0.5 which is the overlooked little brother to the 1.0, has plenty of power for most mid-sensitivity speakers of a moderate size. It also has a very nice overall sonic signature- adequate bass, lush midrange, and slightly rolled off high frequencies.
