I have a chance to buy a 3 Head Carver TD-1700 cassette deck for $130 in new condition or a Tascam 122MKIII 3 Head cassette deck for $300 also in like new condition and i am having a hard time deciding which one to buy and need some help.Has anyone here ever owned a Carver cassette deck and if so are they good decks?I did'nt know Carver even made tape decks,i know there Power Amps are pretty darn good because i own a TFM-25 225 watt/channel amp that performs great but how are there cassette decks?And i know a little about Tascam decks.Some help would be greatly appreciated.Thanks,Keith H.

I have one TD-1400, not exactly sure what the difference is between the two models, but Carver has a good reputation.
Only flaw I have with mine the idlers-wheels slipping now, so it's time for a service.
The Tascam has more features and also a good pick, maybe test-play both first and get a feel for what you prefer ?:scratch2:
