Carver TDR-1500U, Worth Repairing?

During these Covid times, I thought it would be a good time to resume my archiving project, so I pulled my Carver TDR-1500U cassette deck out of storage, only to find that the drive belt has gone phooey. Outside of the belt, this deck is in otherwise VG+ condition, I even have the remote. I'd like to find a tech willing to work on it, of course, since I'm mainly a PC tech not an audio tech. But is it worth it? I am at present instead using an HK CD 401 cassette deck I picked up a while ago as part of an online estate sale. It isn't in top notch shape, but it's getting the job done.

Looking online, I see some discussion as to whether it's a re-badged Aiwa or Sanyo. I'm leaning towards Aiwa, as it looks similar to an Aiwa AD-R707U.

Thoughts?

I would stick with the HK CD 401. That's a good deck, better than the Carver IMO.

The CD 401 is definitely a keeper, of course. Right now it is my only functioning deck & it could use a tune up. Would either like to get the Carver repaired or find another tape deck to use for archiving.
