Hello AK Members! Someone want to chime in and take my hand? My Caver is asking for a tuneup! I Have a recently acquired a new to me Carver Amp . Asking for TLC! This is my first Carver. It was assigned to drive some Maggies! Relieving the Hafler 500. I am a vintage receivers guy in core!
The Caver TFM-45 seems to have a intermittent cut out when driven a little.
Sound cuts and then returns hitting hard! My test Spks didn't like this!!! A refresh Tune up Preventative maintenance is needed! I am looking for reliability and a enjoyable future with this beautiful Amp and the satisfaction that comes with DIY!! I have searched online, and have taken note of lots of warnings reguarding the Carver 100+V Rails! And High Charged caps that are ready to bite! Boards too! With the High performance and design or this Amp I am sure their are a few key components that would secure /return stability and reliability .
Anyone have experience trouble shooting/ tuning Caver? I am having zero luck acquiring a service manual for the Carver . One 3300 cap C14 seems to be forming a crown I could send a photo. D14 though D17 ? One seems to have been replaced of the 4 . Perhaps attention here? Any help would be incredible! Thanks!
