Cassette Setup, adding to the chain

Hi, new to analog, assembled a pretty basic cassette system, tape player > eq > speakers.

It uses rca cables and a simple adapter into the computer speakers.

I figure since I went to the trouble of getting this to work I could add things to the chain. I'm not familiar on what you can add other than a dynamic range expander, but I'm open to adding anything just for experimental fun.

Any ideas?

An EQ is the fun one, I rarely use one for sonics but I do like the light show. Sansui added interesting lighting to reverb units back in the 70's, the RA-500 seems like the most popular of the line-up. Technics Space Dimension Controller, the SH-8030, is an cool unit for doing sound adjustments but it's big draw is the display, I forget what they call the little neon-like tubes that light up but it looks really cool and there's different displays available.

Personally most of these don't do much for me but they look great in the stack.

I love watching youtube videos and I'll pump the sound through my computer to my little AIWA 22 system on my desk. My ASUS Soundcard has a program that lets me change a ton of sound settings. Once in a great while I find a live performance where I can tweek some settings and it does sound more life-like but it's rare.
