castors for kef 105.2

Hello everyone
I have been owning a pair of kef 105.2 in excellent condition for a few years: the original wheels that Kef sold as an accessory are missing and I decided to find a pair, but nothing original can be found.
I have seen that they are quite common wheels and even 8 non-original wheels should be just fine, however I don't know the dimensions in height, considering that Kef had studied a precise height from the ground of the 105.2 to perfect the bass emission: someone can help identify the size of the casters and the precise height of the bottom of the 105.2 from the floor once the casters are mounted?
possibly in centimeters.

Most speakers sound best when the tweeters are at ear height for a seated listener. This usually translates to about 36". I would guess 1-1/2"-2" casters similar to these would work fine. And while these casters might place the speakers at THEIR correct height, what about whether your ears are at the correct height when you're seated?

I don't think the height of the casters are critical, your woofer is placed at the top of the bass bin and is sloped backwards. On my KEF 105.4 which are on carpet there is 10mm or 3/8" between the base of the speaker and the carpet. KEF would have used standard casters, on mine they are the type which fit into a hole in the bass bin, no plate or screws.

I recently took one of the kef 105 speakers to a technician for a midrange overhaul and he pointed out that at the base there are 4 holes - in which to screw the wheels - which he said have a little hole-communication with the inside of the woofer box , thus creating vent problems: obviously, he closed them by screwing in some threaded bolts.
I have not yet had the opportunity to verify if this is true on the other speaker - which has not been closed with 4 bolts - and it seems strange to me: I have a serious doubt that Kef has left 4 holes open inwards, even if small, where the 4 wheels must be screwed: as soon as I have some time I will do this check, but still convinced me even more to look for the 8 wheels to screw, in any case it will be a gain.
I believe that the wheels reported by homebrew are suitable for the purpose, they seem similar to the original ones both in size and in aesthetics, the indication of the height of the ears appears to me valid in any case, I had thought about this aspect too but I liked it a confirmation from any owners of a pair of 105 with wheels.
Kudos to Robint for his 105.4, very interesting speaker and - I think - they must sound very good indeed.

If you go to the KEF museum the 105.2 brochure shows them with casters. I think a previous owner removed them. I would measure the diameter of the hole in the base of the speaker and head to the hardware store and buy 8 casters which will push fit into the holes. KEF would have purchased a standard hardware item. I know Home Depot in the U.S. carry a range of casters, one of which should fit your needs. If necessary you can buy a selection and try them out and return the ones not needed.

I can provide measurements. Take a pic of the bottom of the cabinet, so I can see how the casters were mounted and identify which casters from my stash are from the 105.2

Here are some photos of the bottom of my Kefs, I also found one where you can see the wheels mounted (they are not my 105 of course) and they are very similar to those reported by Homebrew: they are commercial production wheels easily available on the web and in stores , just measure the diameter of the hole and look for the suitable screw.
Rather it seems interesting to me to point out that the technician who made the last revision was right! I inserted a fairly long pin (15cm - 6 inches) into the holes and it went completely beyond their length, so the 4 holes at the bottom - where the wheels are screwed into - are really connected with the inside of the woofer box and they determine an air intake: thus, without the wheels, the kef105 is no longer a sealed box and my technician did well to close at least one with the bolts (see photo); I am perplexed by this choice of Kef, but fortunately it is easily solved by buying 8 new wheels!
