Cayin A50T bias for KT77

Hi guys, newbie to this forum. I’ve been using a Cayin A50T doe a good 7 years now. Recently been thinking of upgrading to Genelax GoldLion KT77.

I was wondering what I should set my bias to once I’ve upgraded. The Cayin manual states 0.30 - 0.35vdc however I believe that is for EL34.

can I use the same bias settings for KT77.
What happens if I were to go higher than the max 0.35vdc.

Appreciate the advice from the pros who have the same amp and upgrades to the same brand of KT77 power tubes

As i don't have any schematics for this i cannot tell if KT77 is suitable for this amp.
Reason is that grid resistor must be less then 250k when using KT77 to prevent any
current runaway and following redplating.
If you have a schematics please post it !

Hmm don’t have any schematics. But on here and other forums had read that KT77 was a direct sub for EL34?

will try to google again but so far no luck getting schematics

No, KT77 is no a direct sub, details differ. One of those details is sensitivity to current runaway.

You could identify grid resistors and see what value they have, then a definite answer will be given by the
datasheet for KT77. https://frank.pocnet.net/sheets/084/k/KT77_GEC.pdf

Not sure what value the grid resistors are as I Can’t find the spec sheet and I dont really wanna open up and measure.

anyone here have this same amp and tried gold lion KT77?

Hello skularatna, any luck with the kt77. I have same integrated amp and I’m running kt77’s. Considering the Golden Lion brand.
