CD player Technics SL-PJ27 - does not recognize CD

Hi,

Any idea what would be problem, player is acting as follow:
Without CD,
1. optics moves start place
2. lens goes up and down and red spot can be seen when looking from side

With CD (CD is not not recognized),
1. CD spins slowly few seconds
2. CD spins a bit faster few seconds
3. CD spins like normal speed for few seconds
4. CD tray opens (CD still spins)

Lense is cleaned correctly with IPA.
What I should check next?

Keep in mind your CD player is 30+ years old, a replacement laser might be a necessary solution at this stage in its life.
