CD Players

Most of the time, Buttons need Deoxit D100 cleaning, Optical need Alcohol cleaning, and Mechanisms need cleaning and lubing with White Lithium Grease (Tube)

Maybe easy to fix.

Image of an extended cleaning of the optical, under the top lens, (but most of the time, no need to go as far)

Sometimes I lurk on for some AS-IS good quality CD Players on the cheap just thinking I could fix it, but I have less and less use for a CD player.
Don’t use Lithium on plastic gears. It weakens them. You want 50-60,000 weight silicone oil (used a lot for RC car diffs).

I always thought Lithium Grease was safe on plastics, but Lithium grease seems to be petroleum based, I thought Lithium was find in mines.

Is chemistry an elective in Canada as well? You typed the above while being connected to the freaking Internet. Amazing.
