I've amassed quite a collection of gems the last couple of years for 50 cents apiece at my local thrift store's ' half price media Sundays'.
But now storing them has become a slight issue.

I built a cabinet with two vertical rows of drawers to store CD's.for my brother around 1999. It could hold around 300 CD's. Back then I thought that would be a lot of CD's. But he filled it up fast.

CDs and CD players and Transports will make a revival, much like vinyl has. I just received my new EMM Transport and have 1000s of SACDs/CDs - and adding to them monthly. I have a nice shelf for the ones in our main livingarea and extra shelves and containers (black bags on either side of the cabinets … and in closet).

Storage was/is an issue for me too. But since I rip all my cds to a hard drive and play it all thought raspberry pi I have no need for the physical cd. But I want to keep the cds as well. I have tossed (recycled) all the plastic jewel cases and now store all my cds (with booklet) in the white storage sleeves and store the cds in plastic boxes in a closet. It saves tons of space and weight as well. I still keep them in alphabetical order and write the artist, album and isbn code on each sleeve. Any Cds that came in cardboard cases or Other specialty cases I keep those cases and keep the cds in them. . I also keep the paper insert that is the back side of the cd.

I have a local thrift store where all cds are 99 cents. I have gotten a lot of music that I always wanted in the past but never picked up because I did not have the cash or other albums were higher priority.

I do wish vinyl was 99 cents each.

I'm almost totally into streaming now, but the 1000 or so CDs I have aren't going anywhere. A bunch of my CDs are not on my streaming service, Amazon Music Unlimited. If I buy any more CDs, it will be to support artists who play at the theatre where I volunteer.

Can still find CDs for a buck at yard sales. I’ve almost filled up a Sony 400 CD carousel and have an empty one waiting in a closet to be daisy chained off the first.
