Celestion DL10 Cabinet Repair

So the local thrift shop never has anything good - best I've done was an unopened vinyl copy of the soundtrack to Next Friday for $5 (gotta celebrate the little victories in life). Until last week when I drop in and found a pair of Celestion DL10s for the sweet sweet price of $40. But there's always a catch - the cabinets (apart from being scuffed up) are separating at the bottom. Otherwise, they function fine. I've never dealt with this type of problem before. Does anyone have experience or advice on how to salvage these beauties?

The picture is not viewable; however, I suspect you could fix it by running some wood glue into the gap, cut a piece of 3/4" plywood the same dimensions of the bottom of the speaker, then use some long bar clamps to clamp the plywood to the bottom of the speaker until the glue dries. Maybe put some wax paper between the bottom of the speaker and the plywood so it doesn't end up stuck if the glue runs out of the gap and you don't catch it.
