cell phone ringing during commercials on TV

I might be crazy but has anyone else heard cell phone ring tones or text message tones during TV commercials? I'm not taking about your phone going off but the sounds being on the TV.

I'm wondering if they are using this as a way to cause viewers to be attracted to the TV so you watch the commercial.

The wife has heard the same thing when I pointed it out and I have TIVO'ed it and played it back.

I hate to say it, yeah, I think I have heard it.
 
Dyson used a squeaky toy sound in their commercials that drove dogs crazy. It wouldn't surprise me if they were fumbling around with ring tones now to get people to come into the livingroom and then watch a commercial. I don't watch TV, what was being advertised?
 
i dont get it.. do are you talking about a particular commerical. or a handfull of commercials..
if you take my opinion.. commercials get dumber and dumber..
 
Me being on call 24-7, anytime I hear something that remotely sounds like a cell phone ringtone, I look at my phone.

Saying that, I have heard ringtones (or similar tunes) through a tv.

I wouldn't doubt them adding phone sounds, I think I have heard the same thing, and its just to get attention, much like those annoying radio station signitures between tracks. Real shame, not because of the commercial (there all bad), but because its a dirty trick, pointless except to irk.
 
Now when telephones used real bells nobody would think the sound of a bell ringing over the TV was really the phone.
 
Maybe they should put a doorbell ring in the Viagra commercial.

That might cure the "four hour" problem................:smoke:
 
I was driving in the car today and Al Green's "Let's Stay Together" came on. Early in the song there was an organ riff I think that made me glance at my cell phone to see if it was ringing. I love the song and forgot all about that as the song played through. A minute or two later I changed the station and by strange coincidence "Let's Stay Together" came on the new station right away. Wouldn't you know, a few seconds into the song I was glancing at my phone again! It made me laugh as I remembered it happening five minutes earlier.
 
Our brains have been wired to become more alert to specific sensory stimulus. Whether it's sounds, images, smells and or touch.

Advertisers know this, the sneaky ones use it.
 
There is a car commercial where the people drive around looking for their dog. Toyota or Honda. All the while, they are squeaking various dog toys. Lame storyline. The first time I saw that ad I figured it was an excuse to get millions of dogs barking at the TV and their commercial noticed.

Expect to see more of it.
 
We were talking with the Master regarding the nature of conceptual reality. Psychologically speaking, the human mind, or brain or whatever, is almost incapable of distinguishing between the real and the vividly imagined experience. Sound and film and music and radio. Even these manipulative experiences are received more or less directly and uninterpretive by the mind. They are cataloged and recorded and either acted upon directly, or stored in the memory, or both. Now this process, unless we pay it tremendous attention, begins to separate us from the reality of the now. Am I being clear? For we must allow the reality of the now to just happen, as it happens. Observe and act with clarity. For where there is clarity, there is no choice. And were there is choice, there is misery. But then, why should I speak, since I know nothing?
 
So, in other words audio is imagined. All systems really sound the same.
