Center for Kappa 7.1 - Infinity P-CC?

Hello,
First time poster, long time lurker.

I have recently acquired my first set of Infinity speakers (Kappa 7.1). I really love the way they sound and now I need a center speaker to pair with them. I would like to get the matching center speaker but am having trouble locating one.

1) Any recommendations on a currently available center speaker that would match well with these?
2) I have an opportunity to pick up an Infinity P-CC center. The drivers look intact but a couple need re-foaming. Would this work well with the Kappa 7.1 speakers?
3) If I can get the P-CC on the cheap would it be worth refurbishing and re-selling?

1. Nothing currently available will match your Kappa 7.1. If you can't find a Kappa center, you can also try for a CS-Video, a Delta Center, an Infinitesimal center, or even an Infinitesimal 4 if you don't need horizontal mounting. An RS-Video would probably be closer than the P-CC but lacks the EMIT-R tweeter. All of these except for the Delta will probably require refoaming.

I use a Infinity Kappa Video Series ii Center Channel Speaker with my Kappa 6.1's.

The Kappa Video Series (i & ii) were designed to match the Kappa X.1 series speakers timber.

You can find them for sale at many venues... E-pay, The Music Room etc. Google it, you'll easily find one for $60 to $130. FYI, they are 20-ish years old and will need re-foaming if they haven't been done already.

I have the Kappa Video (actually three of them) and while nice, I'm looking for something better. I've read the IL-36c sounds good with the Kappa's.
 
Don't know what your budget is, but Genesis Advanced Technologies has a couple of center channel speakers that use the latest descendant of the EMIT-r and are probably voiced similar to the Kappa's.
 
I would make a custom one using kappa 6.1 parts. Even the cabinet makes a perfect platform for center channel. Here some ideas !!! The possibilities are Endless. ( these are not mine but wouldn't be to hard to build. )

I 'think' I posted to this tread, but I believe it was lost in the recent AK crash.

The Kappa Center was pretty much the only Kappa released center. At least in the U.S. It got very good reviews, from the press at the time, with being named as a Top 10 Center. There was also 3-way Kappa Center B, but that appears to have only been released in Europe, as all the pictures that I find for it are from Germany, Italy, and The Netherlands. From the pictures that I found, it looked like a newer Infinity effort, as it appeared to use a HE Emit tweeter.

As to DIY, these are two of my favorites!

The Infinity kappa 9 center I own it. I bought from the guy that made it but I updated the drives. RSDS Polydome & Polygraph. And RS-1b Woofers. Yes it does have a kappa 9 crossover and a rear Emit k tweeter. I love this thing sounds great with my Kappa 9 mains ‼️

It's good to hear that someone with Kappa 9's ended up with that center! It is an awesome DIY build. Though, I have to ask; why the updates? The 'original' drivers looked to be in really good shape. I can understand changing out the woofers, as they look like the later 8" woofers, designed for a ported cabinet, like used in the 6.1's. But, why change the dome mids. Are the RSDS drivers audibly superior? Or just longer lasting? Thanks.
 
I can confirm the the IL36c is a MUCH better center than the Kappa video. Very pleased with it so far. Beware, it's a big SOB! totally sealed, bigger than my old polk cs400i.
