cerwin vega AT 15 speakers

hello every one how are you doing. well my names nick and i just got me a pair of cerwin vega AT 15 SPEAKERS. MINT CONDITION.
these speakers are huge i couldn't believe my eyes from how big the speaker cabinet really is.
i got them for 200 off of my friend davids dad. and wowww these things shake my whole house and my next door neighbor said i knocked down his pictures in there living room haha. man im so excited my friends dad whos name is joey sold me them becuase he was trying to get rid of them since he just got a new sony surround sound dream system with stand up speakers and a big old huge powered subwoofer thats in the living room. so he had no room for these since he parks his car in the garash.

well i was just wondering if anyone has had these set of speakers there selfs
and if they can tell me there experiences with them.

also are these 1 of the better sets cerwin vega maid back in there better days.

seems like when i read up on my AT 15s every one says the D9s are better.
i never had me d9s these are my first pair of cerwin vegas and the way these sound i just became a lifetime fan.

ok now ima name out 5 cerwin vega speaker models that caught my attention.
and thos of you who think which 1 is the best or the worse name them out. which is worse and best. k thank you very much for your time.

1. cerwin vega At 15.

2. cerwin vega d9.

3.cerwin vega.dx.9

4.cerwin vega v 15.

5. cerwin vega CLS-15.

all 15 woofer models.

i love my cerwin vega AT 15's so ima name them number 1 best haha.

also go ahead and name another cerwin vega 15 speaker that can go good in that list.

You know, I'm sure they sound wonderful, but I've never liked a Cerwin Vega cabinet out of all of them that I've seen!
 
I have the RE-38's. I won many a college stereo war with those beasts!!! The cabs are kinda beat up from the many moves in college, but they're still kinda crisp. AND that BASS!!!! I'm telling you.
Have fun with those monsters, they sound just fine for you.
 
Loud as f*^&, and great for Megadeth and Michael Jackson music. Not bad for HT systems either. But for real fidelity -- they kinda suck.

The choice is yours.

I recently picked up 2 pairs of DX-7 speakers in excellent shape and they're earth-shaking. I can only imagine what damage a pair of DX-9s would do. :banana:
 
damn thats crazzy i can buy me a pair of dx 9 speakers of a guy on craigslist thats why i ask. i got a pretty good amp. its a onkyo preamp and power amp system.

do you guys thinks that cerwin vega dx9s are better then the cerwin vega At 15.
 
some d9s huh. now of days there so hard to find. i found some d9 woofers on ebay but i think they might be fake im not sure.
becuase when i tipe in the model number in the back of the magnet which is 152WR into google it takes me to cerwin vega repair kit sites and i think the guy just repair some differnt ones and maid them look like d9s i dont know.

but hey i im gunna get me some d9s now since people say there the best of the best of cerwin vega.

Look through the hole in the back and the date is on the woofer. Do you have the grills over the midrange? When Cerwin Vega came out with these they really came out with a speaker that could put the Rolling Stones in your living room LIVE!!! I had a set powered by a proton preamp and a Hafler amp, with the Hafler on the edge of clipping, the music was crystal clear even though it was so loud you couldn't hear someone if they yelled in your ear. The speakers would have taken two Haflers bridged, never had the chance to try that. They also sound very good at low volume because it takes nothing to drive them and their dhd is so low. The cabinets are vynal covered particleboard, but if you can get over that,and just want to listen to music as if the band was there, you got the speaker. I had Spendor BC1 and 3's, very clean audiofile speakers but when it comes to rippin' it out and lettin' it go, there isn't much for the money that plays as clear at volume.
 
Sears bought them out or at least sold them in the early mid 90's. They got cheapened up. Watts went down, thd went up. Price went way down. They wern't the same speaker, just looked the same.
 
wow thanks for your opinions i listen to hip hop music but old school underground hip hop none of that new junk thats being played on the radio now of days. i also listen to oldies a lot to.

the bass on these AT 15'S are incredible. i cant believe it im listening to them right now my amp can push them pretty good i swear my whole house is shaking.

i read up more on my pair of speakers. people are saying the bass is not to good on them but they give crystal clear sound. i can agree with you on the sound they sound amazing but i can disagree with the bass issue. the way these 15's are hitting right now ohh man there shaking my windows hahaha. wow the bass on these are so good. plus i like the cerwin vega At 15s becuase the woofer has little lines circling the whole front of the speakers i never seen no other cerwin vega woofer look like that all the other woofers out there dont have thos little lines circling around the whole speakers i think only the AT series did that.

yah im gunna get me some d9s. i read up that thos things are bass champs.
but they dont got clear sound.

ima wire all 4 of them have the to d9s in the back of the living room
and have my pair of AT 15s in the front for clear sound and bass.

naw i gotta search to find some d9s.

Oooo, nice. Congrats! I am a new Cerwin Vega fan myself.

I just got my first pair of Vegas a couple days ago too and I love them. Mine are the smaller D-5's but they still kick and are can still shake anything loose in the house if I crank it.

I would like to find some D-9's but the price was sooo right on my D-5's I had to have them.
 
I have 3 pair of Cerwin vega D-9's and I wont part with them till I am dead. I run mine on Carver M 500 T amps and they will rattle the rain gutters on the roof. You can see my amps in my avatar. :thmbsp:
 
Same here, blues, jazz, rock, very little country,ok no country yet, thought it is changing to the old rock style, 54 yrs old and I think M&M is a genius. His writing is incredible and how he took rap and made into something besides a beat and repetative ryming lyrics. Got to keep an open mind and learn all the time or it's over, just get old on memories.
I owned a new set of AT 15's way back when they came out, just bought a mint set through Ebay two days ago. They are sitting in my living room in pieces, didn't make the trip. Shame!!! Mississipi John Hert on now!!!!!
 
niceeee. a you know what i got me a d5 to but its just the subwoofer. i bought it off a guy in hermosa beach ca. i drove all the way down there from los angeles and bought the speaker of him the woofer for 35 bucks on craigslist it was a new woofer.

i had this nice carpeted pa 12 empty box sitting in my garash it has 1 big horn tweeter on the box i got the box from the back of the goodwheel. hahaha since i work right next to the donation center i was in the back of my store taking out the trash and i seen it sitting right there and its a new box i got pics i will upload them in a bit. came with a speaker screen and everything so i took it into my store hahahaha.

so i started looking for a woofer online to put in it. went on craigslist tiped in cerwin vega and thats that. cerwin vega d5 is my first cerwin vega speaker.

that was like 2 months ago then i bought these AT 15s 2 days ago.

the d5 hits really hard in that box and sounds real good thats what maid me want to buy the AT 15s.

once i got my pair of AT 15s i started using my d5 for a center speaker so not to much bass runs into as much but it gos extremely LAUD...

i found out it was a d5 when i tiped in the model on the back of the magnet in google.
 
sorry to hear about your AT 15 speakers ihop. that sucks man im very sorry. yah i hate ups i got riped speakers from them more then once. i use to buy speakers off ebay but i rather go to craigslist now its better plus i i got a infinity 15 woofer rubber riped and dust cap pushed in one time and then a pioneer imp 10 subwoofer came bent the basket was a little bent like something big and heavy was sitting on the box and bent the speaker and it wouldnt fit in the box i got so mad hahaha.

but that was a long time ago and good speakers came my way as in good karma haha yah ima get nothing but cerwin vega speakers for now on i had me a collection in my day.

so i hope the best for you in that situation hopefully everything works out and ups wil cover it and youl get your money back.

I have a mint set of U-351 HED Cerwin Vega speakers. They were made in 1980 and have 15's...put them on your list. :yes:
