Cerwin vega oddity....

Hey everyone,
Everything I've read on Cerwin Vega's speakers said that their residential line started with the model 24 speakers.

However, and here's the "oddity" part from my title, I definitely own model 23 speakers that were made by Cerwin Vega. I haven't been able to find any reference material whatsoever on the internet, and was wondering if any Cerwin vega guys (or anyone else for that matter :thmbsp: ) had any information about them. there's only one other person on AK i've found that owns a pair, and I tried calling Cerwin vega a while ago, but they said that when the company changed ownership, all the documentation from that era was lost :(.

Thanks,
jhinkel

I used to have R-24's. They were great speakers after I had to repair the original woofers a bit and put new diaphragms in the Heppner Dhorns. Boy did they sound good after I was done.

I know for a fact they had residential speakers well before the 24's.

I found this neat little history story on CV site:

http://www.cerwinvega.com/history-cerwin-vega-pro-audio-home-audio-speakers-subwoofers.html

Now theres something in that story I did not know, in 1957 CV introduced the worlds first Solid State amplifier with an output of 125 WPC, which was monsterous power for that time.

Wow that is pretty interesting, Charlie. Yeah, these model 23's are just about the best sounding speakers I own. That's why I wanted to find out about them :).
