Cerwin Vega R 10 speakers ?

Is it possible for Cerwin Vega R 10's to have the original speakers WITHOUT the red trim? I'm trying to sell a pair and someone informed me the speakers weren't original because they had black, not red surrounds. Is it possible they're original and this guy is just blowing smoke?

Every R10 I've ever seen, had dark gray foam surrounds. I do not believe that model ever came with red surrounds, stock.

OTOH, the next-size-up R12 DID come with red surrounds, at least some of the time. That, itself, can cause some confusion among those who haven't seen a lot of these models.

The guy that responded to my ad is trying to tell me they're not original because they don't have the red surrounds. I'm not sure if he's just blowing smoke or just trying to get the speakers at a better price because "they're not original"!

What Gordon said. Move on - don't waste your time with him. He thinks he knows - can't argue with that. Or as you say he is fishing....

I came here to educate myself. I'm not going to knowingly sell something that isn't what I state in the ad!

You might consider challenging him to send you a ad or picture with red surrounds.
