CES and high-end stuff.....

I enjoyed reading about all the new stuff from the CES. I can appreciate the attraction to stuff like Mc - something that I enjoy, crave, but really can't afford (right now). And I know there are people out there with lots of money. My question is how much of a market is there for these 20-30k amps, 50k turntables, 100k speaker systems, etc - do these companies who make this stuff actually sell more than a few? And if so, to whom - given the limited production and the technical details, I can't imagine the fiscal viability of some of these companies........

It isn't cheap to rent a suite especially if it is in the "official" high end audio section of the show. I would take a wild guess and say they had some sister company relationship (same owner) with a firm doing very high end audio/video installations.

I guess it is alot like F-1 racing, but I am not sure who the big pocket companies are that support these very expensive (like stuff that make Mc look cheap) stuff - and who buys these things? And how many can each of these small companies sell?
