Cetec Gauss 4281-M specifications

Hi,

I have acquired one of these drivers with the hope to create a bass guitar cabinet for it but I can't find any specifications or t/s parameters.

If anyone has any information or experience with cabs for these please let me know.

Your query has prompted me to finish a web page on Gauss speakers. I've have a complete set of data acquired from Cetec-Gauss back in the 80's when I was a silent partner for a speaker repair shop which was also an authorized repair facility for Cetec-Gauss and J.B.L. Years ago, I started these pages but over the years, I hadn't found any queries on them in such forums as this, so the pages were placed on the infamous back burner. Well, I spent most of the day scanning that catalog of data and have placed them into my website. There's just a few finishing touches to add but your 4281 is there, along with all the instructions on how to use the charts.
In all that data, there is no mention of a 4281-M, perhaps it's a later model as this data set dates to the early 80's.

The 4281 was, basically, Gauss's version of the JBL E120. A great guitar or midrange speaker, but not enough excursion or LF extension for bass.

The exception would be a bass horn of some sort. That's what it would take too get the 4281 to have appreciable output below 55Hz or so.
