Chage Voltage in Sansui 4000

Hi, Guy

I just won in bidding Sansui 4000 receiver from Ebay, this item location is in USA, but my country is Thailand (220 voltage)

I want to ask everyone about changing voltage in sansui 4000, How to do that? it hard for me to do with my self or not?, if you have step to change voltage in sansui

please favor and advise me

I never had 4000 in my hands,but according to the schematic there is some kind of jumpers you need to put in the right position.Should be easy.

Enjoy that Sansui. There is a plug inside the receiver, under the top cover, that must be moved to change the voltage. In this picture the plug is just above the big power transformer.

WELCOME Munkong. The 4000 is a real fine Receiver. Voltage change is easy. These guys have you on the right track. I remember how good my 4000 sounded when I hooked it up. Think Im gonna rotate In somewhere. Enjoy Later JF

agian! if my country current voltage not stable and always swing from 220 to 226V, what's position is best for me?

set to 220V or set to 230V ?

Munkong: Nothing in this receiver runs on line voltage. It is stepped down, rectified, regulated, and filtered at a much lower voltage for the circuits. The 230v setting would handle it very well.

The electricity in Thailand is 220 volts, 50 cycles/sec. (inform from Electric Officer)
sometime voltage swing up a little bit (not much)

I will set to 230V position with your advise

4000 pics

You wanted some pics of people's 4000. Here is mine, I just finished with the cabinet refinishing yesterday. I have it in my bedroom system hooked up to a pair of B&W 602 s3 speakers. Sounds really nice, tuner reception is the best I have heard!!
