Challenges faced by vinyl pressing industry

Great reads - thanks for sharing.

I was surprised at the wsj article and the graph showing the big spike in LP sales!

So, does this mean my record collection is appreciating in value? Clearly the supply/demand has affected the prices.

Ten years ago, I was kinda surprised at the demand. I sold out some non-essential indie records, to buy others. For example, I sold "One Bedroom" by The Sea and Cake and it fetched $50. That was a fluke. Now its at a more predictable $25, which is still substantially more than I paid.

What's the Parlaphone pressing of OK Computer worth now? I paid $25 for it, in June 2007 form Reckless Records. I just checked with popsike it fetches over $150. Sweet. Prediction confirmed on that title. Indie rock is soaring in value!

Actually, it looks like just about any random indie band I liked and bought has double to tripled in value according to popsike. Well, most, maybe not all. $25 for One Bedroom seems the going value on OOP indie LPs of any stature.

Who thinks I should start selling? The market looks primed!
