Changing 2230 trimmers

R765 trimmer behaving unreasonably while being adjusted did quite some damage on my right P750. I intend to replace all pots now.
Not at all sure about the power rating though, in the specifications are all marked as "B". Any advice please?

This series available at Digikey seems to be ticking the boxes: reasonably priced, good manufacturer, minimal 10% tolerance, 25 turns fine adjustable from top, sold by unit not bulk.
Legs seem to be in line instead of triangle but I guess that's easily modifiable. Anyone using them?

I cannot say whether these trimmers will work OK but looking at the ones you found at Mouser, some have the legs in a line and others are triangle.

A fellow AK'r decrypted the Bourns part numbers for me:

The 3296 series is a good place to start.

There are 4 suffix types - W, X, Y, and Z. And it's worth figuring out which is which.
W and X have their three legs in a line, Y and Z are in a triangular pattern, which I prefer.
W and Y have the adjuster on the top, and X and Z put it on the side.

For my purposes I prefer the "Y" setup.

Thank you TimCartier for this information.

Thanks, didn't realise that. I thought they were all in line.

My turn to thank you for sharing it.
In the 1/2W, the nearest available to the 470 OHM that I need is 500 OHM. Is it safe using that I wonder?

Did you do anything else, I do not remember ever having to replace a trimmer on a 2230?

Hmmmm

I certainly must have done lots else patfont, I wish I knew which was the move that led to all this.
