I took my Econowaves off the 11" stands I had them on last week to move them around a bit and try to get some more bass out of them. Now they're a bit much, so I'm thinking of raising them up a bit and spiking them. I'm on carpeted cement, so I'm not worried about the slab.
Being a creative sort, I've decided to us the top platform of the stands with some outriggers on it for spikes. And because every new idea should have a prototype, I've decided to use some lag bolts as my spikes. They're pointy and if I use hardwood, they should carve some nice strong threads to keep them set. Best part is I'm pretty sure all the stuff is right out in the garage.
Pics and test results to follow later today!!!
