So my wife and I are big estate sale junkies, and we've spotted some gear at an on-going estate sale near us. There is a reasonably priced Sony DA50ES receiver, S7700 DVD player, and a pair of Legacy audio bookshelf speakers. Model isn't mentioned but I know Legacy these days is huge money. There is also a Systemdek IIX turntable, but they're asking $300 for that and I'm not familair with that brand/model... someone come scoop it up!!

Why aren't I grabbing these items up, you ask???

Because I had a 2ohm-stable receiver that I've parted ways with, currently own a S7700 ($5 goodwill score!!), and the R E A L hifi deal of the sale has already been sold... to me :D upgrade to come!

Id have bought the Legacy's over that jamo stuff any day of the week....Would have also stopped in at Chef Klaus for a veal shank...

I'll take my chances on the Jamo's, those are improperly labeled... the towers are Concert 11/D870. They use SEAS Excel midrange and tweeter and I believe had a msrp of around $5k!!

The center won't be used for now, and maybe ever. I also think the finish is mismatched *grumble grumble*. I'll for sure give the D870s and the sub a try!

Yeah the turntable is tempting and all, but given the current times this sale is pay in advance, and outdoor pick-up. So no testing even for power, nor rummaging around to potentially find the platter... speakers are a safer bet for me, and were cheaper! :D

Congrats on the Jamo's!. I needed the Systemdek for parts, I have always wanted a teak plinth! and Curiosity was killing me over those legacy speakers. I had to grab them, Certainly not @ those prices.

In a million years I would never have guessed you knew of Chef Klaus! Frankfort/Mokena were my teenage stomping grounds and I remember when he first came to town. For years his place was THE hidden gem in old downtown, then he got a bigger place and hit the big time.

The last place is when I discovered klaus in the 80's... I grew up in a german houshold.. This was the only place in the south suburbs.... Lots of italian in the area though...
