Chinese Marantz 7 preamp clones any good?

Does anyone have experience or opinions on the Marantz 7 clones available cheaply on the net, kit or otherwise? Is there such a thing as a great, newly built, tube preamp, with or without phono stage on board?

I've never studied those circuits but I seriously doubt they're anywhere near being close to a 7 circuit.

Some sellers will say anything to sell simething. I'm sure a much better pre can be had for the price.
