Choosing a soldering iron

Want to run over to Fry's electronics tonight to pick up a soldering iron so I can start doing crossover upgrades and cap replacements. Am I better off with a fixed wattage iron (what's the best wattage) or a work station with adjustable wattage? They have this one in stock.

They also carry Hakko and Weller, but I don't think they have any from those manufacturers that are adjustable temp.

Killer. Looks like they have it in stock at the store near me so I'll head out and grab one now. Thanks, man!

I bought the Velleman VTSSC40NU from Frys. I am very impressed the few times I've use it.
