Choosing Cartridges to keep

Hello All.

I wanted to get everyone opinion on which carts to keep. I listen to classic rock, Mann hiem, and some 80's pop.

I have serveral carts to choose from I am keeping 2 and selling the rest with the TT's they came with.

Pickering v15 / ame-3
Me95ED
Stanton 500
Shure M55E
Shure v15 Type II

They are all mounted on TK cart shells for Dual 12XX Turntables. Which ever I keep wil get new Styli.

I'd suggest keeping the M55E for classic rock and V15 Type ll for classical.

I'd keep the two Shure carts. I've got the V15 Type II on my TT as one of the four I rotate. The M55E's another one that I've enjoyed in the past.

Yes, those two are classics, both made in the USA.

The Me95ED is a watered down, made in Mexico M95ED. It's nothing special.

The M55E is very excellent, has a good stylus selection for all 3 speeds, and worth having one in your fleet, and it accepts N44 stylus options too. The V 15 Type II is also a great classic Shure offering (related to the uber versatile M 75, a trickle down from it's technology). I am running a M 55-E body in my Shure M 232 broadcast arm, with a EVG Japan N44-7 replacement tracking at 2 grams. It's very excellent on sonics and tracking, and the sound I grew up with.
