Chorus II woofer recone

Howdy- Just came into a set of Chorus II and one has a destroyed woofer. My question is this- If I recone it, will there be a significant difference in it and the other with the original cone?
I know purists will say I need to do both in all likelihood.
Maybe wait it out to find an original to replace it with?
Just curious as to what people think- Thanks for any iinput- Jackson

No doubt.

I believe two of the main concerns are size and weight (mass). If Klipsch doesn't have the proper cones, You might contact http://www.nealspeakerservice.com/ He buys overstock and discontinued inventory from speaker mfgrs. He has a lot of "old" inventory. Worth a try.
 
Klipsch doesnt sell cones for any woofers nor do they have this K48 pro version woofer for sale. Simply Speakers does have recone kits but they dont have the correct 4 ohm versions, they have 8 ohm but that wont match, they do have correct mass recone kits for the passive radiator, the mass of the passive is determined by the weight Klipsch used for each model, you have to remove that weight then transfer it to the new cone on the passive.

Best option is to keep a look out for an original woofer, or some recommend a current Eminence replacement, that is who made the original Klipsch woofer for these Chorus & many other models.

Thanks for your reply- I had been starting to figure out exactly what you just said! Oh well- keep on searching! Jackson
 
As of last year when I called & emailed klipsch, took almost 2 months for email reply & waited on hold for 20 minutes calling, they said they do not sell these woofers or any other parts from speakers of this era, but worth a try. Most people use an eminence woofer.
