Chrysler CE-1 Floor Speakers - Please Help With Any Info...Rare?

Hi Ya'll! I'm new here at AK and trying to find my way around. I Love 60's-70's Audio Equipment & Of Course, Vinyl, and I could really use anyones help with any info/rarity/value/ on a Pair of Chrysler CE-1 Speakers. I've had these awhile but I truly cannot find any info on them online. I see the other models such as CE-1a and more but nothing on the ones I have. Makes me feel like they may be the original 1st model in a series? First for the Mfg.? Maybe rare? I hooked them up to a Sansui 5000a with a 2-2 1/2 volume and they sounded great But I'm hoping to know more of this pair. I removed old wooden plugs on one of them but could never open for inspection after removing screws. Maybe the thick plywood back is also glued?

The back is not intended to be removed. You are de-valuing the speaker and inviting buzzing/rattling cabinets.

If you are compelled to get inside them, do it properly by pulling the grills and removing the woofers.

I never tried to pry out the back, I only pulled with my fingers on the cut-out at the connection area and it didn't work so I put the screws back in. Nothing loosened up. Thank you for the info! Do you know any other info on these? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi! I just came across your post randomly as I went searching for info on the CE-1 again... I still have no leads - so i'm not sure on mfg date or region besides Japan... I'd love to know more but unfortunately I still only have the same few resources you've also come across.

I still use my CE-1 every day as part of my macgyvered system and I really love it. Do you still have yours?

Many things are rare, but most of them aren't worth anything at all. Lots of speakers were made over the years, but info on these small businesses is nearly nonexistent for obvious reasons. Best usually to focus on the value these items bring to you, rather than actual monetary value.
