Have any of you used, or do any of you currently use any circuit creation software? This is an example of some that I found which includes tube circuits but I was wondering about the quality of circuit design software that y'all have seen. A nice feature of this one seems to be the ability to calculate, more or less, the frequency response etc. of the circuit you're currently working on, among other things...

I've used a couple of these nice modern simulators. I started out on analog Spice simulators that required cryptic netlists to be entered to describe the circuit. They would always bomb out because everyone's models were different and not portable. Now with these Window's based pretty GUI, it is a snap to capture schematics and generate plots.

I've used Electronics Workbench, and now use Circuit Maker 2k. Both are decent, and both look similar to the spice modelers you linked to. One thing to check for is they are shipped with a large library of parts, so you don't have to hunt the net too much.

yea, sure, i'll probably just legally purchase a few and test 'em out, i'll report back. i'm hoping to use the software to kind of feel my way around building tube circuits, starting with very very basic and trial-and-error-ing my way to something decent, then posting it on here :D keep 'em coming, folks
 
I also have used electronics workbench.. If your wondering about designing PCB's I use Diptrace, you can download a free version off their site.
 
Electronics Workbench

I have used Electronics Workbench version 5.0c. I have used it to help me analyze circuits of equipment I have repaired and/or modified.
 
P-Spice has or had demos, easy to pick up and learn and all visual, no more scripting... try searching google.
 
I just received a mailer today about OrCAD offering a free demo of OrCAD with P-Spice. Click here to go to their download page. It may take a while for a 273M download over dialup, but broadband won't take long. Or, you can follow a link on that page to have them mail you a free CD of it.
