Citation 1 - Restoration Source

I am looking for a source to resurrect my Citation I.
I purchased this preamp about 10 years ago at a local auction. (I kick myself still for allowing myself to be outbid for the matching Citation II.) The Citation I is complete but needs repair of its internals and refurbishment of its faceplate before it can be plugged in. My Citation I deserves to be reborn.
I am looking for recommendations for who to do the work. Don Sachs was an obvious name from online, but he is retired. Who should I investigate?

You could try John Warren at North Reading Engineering. He is mostly known for working on McIntosh, but he restores other makes as well. I can highly, highly, highly recommend him.
 
It’s a project to do it properly. Any competent tech can do it. Mcshane can supply upgraded parts. But he is a grumpy old fellow and assumes everything and doesn’t want feedback

where are you located? that may help with the suggestions.

My hope is that someone has had an experience commensurate with a glowing recommendation. Ideally, an individual who can replace the necessary bits while also upgrading power supply and other sections.
I am in the Metro Detroit area.
 
Thanks for the link. Very nice! It was after looking at another detailed account that I determined that I wanted to put source the restoration to a more expert pair of hands.
 
My Citation I was serviced by Stereo Rehab in Chicago; you will have to take it there (and pick it up,) and Casper won't do mods just restoration to factory spec, but he does good work.
 
Thank you for your recommendation. I did a quick search online. Stereo Rehab has 191 5-star reviews... and nothing else. Based on the website and reviews, a fascinating place to visit with a distinct audio "ideology". I pass through Chicago semi-regularly on the way to my daughter in Milwaukee so the location is almost convenient. I will drop Casper an email - perhaps he can also look at my Eumig 1000 uP.
