Classic Dynaco A25s: Am I imagining this?

My pair are mirrored, most were made with the tweeter to the right, no idea how this
pair was made:
Has anyone tried them tilted back?

Really enjoy my A25s and A50s.

The synergy when using a stock PAS-2 or PAS-3X pre-amp with a stock ST-70 amp is amazing. Also, I drive both sets with Conrad Johnson gear and the sound is fantastic.

FWIW just did my A35's and it really made a difference, evidenced by the fact I had to totally redo my EQ settings. I didn't realize how much high end I had lost over the years, but after recapping I wound up turning down the mids/treble a good amount. I found that I had to actually turn up the low end a little to compete.
you convinced me. I assume I have to pull a woofer to get to the crossover or is there access from the back? Definitely easieer than my first generation klh six if you saw my thread on fixing them.

In my experience, my Dynaco A25 are about the very last speakers I own that I'd associate the term "harsh" to. For me they always seem buttery smooth. If anything for me the high is so smooth that I can sometimes feel like I'm missing some high end sparkle.

Also, regarding 'cheap, antiquated'. I'd describe them as...... inexpensive. Not cheap as SEAS drivers are anything but cheap. And antiquated? Mmm.... good design is never antiquated.

If you want to have some real fun, try stacking various pairs of your speakers. At one point I stacked some EPI M90 on top of Dynaco A25, and the combination was very nice. Each speaker seemed to fill in for the shortcomings of the other.
wondering how to wire a50 and klx six together? Running through a luxman r117. Series, parallel or put on main remote speakers?

Can't really guide you on that one as I did mine using an Adcom speaker selector which allows 3 individual speakers to be selected, or any combination of them.

I guess it probably depends on the rated impedance of each speaker and what your amp/receiver can tolerate. If the speaker ratings are fairly low, I'd probably run in series to be safe.

On mine the woofer is you access. I cut the adhesive around the woofer with a utility knife and resealed with silicone. The crossover is stapled and epoxied to the back board, I found the new cap size to be an awkward fit around the terminal post screws, but I made it work. FWIW I used CEBO caps 8uf caps.

I have 2 pair of A25s and one pair of A35s. They all sound great and I will never get rid of them. I like how some of you are constantly moving pieces around to experiment with the different combinations. I think that is one of the most fun things about this hobby.
