Helo everyone!

Stoked to be a part of AK! Shot in the dark, anyone have any solid tips on what to use to clean the case of an HK 730? If it's even possible? It's a different kind of textured material, one I've never encountered, and I can see some light scuffs and such. Any insight be be valuable.

Thank you!

Welcome to Audiokarma

Any chance you can post a couple pictures?

I worked on a 730 not too long ago and it had some dust and gradu ( cajun for crud) in the vinyl texture. I washed with a soft brush and then wiped it with Armor All. It looked nice. Deep scuffs in the texture will probably be hard to hide.

On these HKs with black textured cases I've had good luck with painting them. Had one with some smears and scratches. I cleaned it. Then I put it in a large empty cardboard box (as a paint booth), then sprayed it with high heat flat black. It looked brand new and you could not tell I painted it. There was one small sticker on the side I had to cover up with painters tape.

Of course if a clean and polish does the trick that's the route to go.

Turtle Wax Trim Restorer.
After a warm water n soap w/ soft brush of course. I used this on both my HK330C & 730. They'll look factory new aside from any gouges, etc.

I have all the receivers in the HKX30 series. Here is my method:

1. Clean with a toothbrush and mild detergent. Wash then dry out immediately.
2. Use Armor All wipes as @El Rubio suggested. This would instantly "erase" most imperfections to the black textured material.
3. If the damage is deep enough that you see the steel underneath, "paint" with black marker.

Looking at the pictures you posted, it looks like your case is very clean and only thing you need to do is to wipe it well with Armor All. It should look like brand new after that.

Best
