cleaning inside the receiver

Hi Everyone -
so I'm inside my latest receiver and it looks like this receiver was in the kitchen next to the grill fan over the stove -- sticky grease and dust ---

what is the best way to clean out the inside of a dirty receiver? just try to blow it off with compressed air?

if it's sticky at all, you probably won't be blowing much outa there. you may also risk bending the smaller peices around and maybe killing a joint.

i'd say...q tips and patience. and lots of isopropyl alcohol.

Disconnect all the boards, remember where the cables were attached, and then put them all in a dishwasher at 60°C

Ah, wait, I was joking, use the alcohol and q-tip procedure, thats the only thing what will help.

Compressed air is OK but I rather use a small thin artist's brush and go over the enitire unit. The brush gets into all the small dust hidding places inside the unit. Just take your time.
