It would be nice if there was a "how do I clean my vintage" sticky with all the threads and replys about cleaning stuff. That way it wouldn't be necessary to constantly repeat adnausium what to use and how to do it. I'v just stopped replying to those questions. and I've answered many to be sure.

Just a guess on my part, but since it'd be largely a "how to" thread, i suspect there might be some "touchy" grey area regarding liability on the part of the site owners.

The general public tends to do a lot of stupid shiite these days.

Maybe a well written disclaimer would address that, again just speculative guessing on my part.
 
I think a cleaning sticky is an excellent idea. :yes:

There is a disclaimer at the top of every forum regarding liability. This came into being after the need to be with ideas of cleaning concoctions and testing procedures. Everybody should read it when they have a sec, like now. :D

it should be generic vintage not just for one brand . there's got to be 100s of replys about cleaning. I've made a good % of them myself. But no more. Im tired of repeating myself over and over and.............
 
We still need a central place to point people to for cleaning faceplates, internals, knobs, etc. There are lots of posts, so maybe I'll search them out and compile them.
