Coax For Whole House FM Antenna

RG6 it is.
Will start with a good amp at the antenna and see how it does.
The recommendation to put the antenna in the attic sounds good. I purchased an omni Loop antenna on Amazon. I bought the better one for $50. The cheap one was $19 and didnt look too inspiring. It hasnt been delivered yet. Will I still need to ground it if it is in the attic?
According to fmfool.com I have decent signals coming in from 4 discrete azimuths. All about 20 to 30 miles away. Hoping to pull them all in with the omni loop.
I'm running old vintage receivers from the 70s: they have really good tuners in them. They have surprised me using simple dipoles tacked up on the wall. Can't wait to see how they do with a decent omni loop in the attic.

No ground needed for indoor antennas. You should see somewhat stronger & clearer reception with an omni in attic, even better if multi-story house. Don't expect miracles, but bound to be more efficient than what you used previously.
 
Still have a 9 element FM Yagi in the attic, pulled FM from 80-100 miles wonderfully UNTIL we had a few local stations get approved early 90's.
Poorly tuned, terrible overlap and harmonics, destroyed distance reception across the band.

If you're in a fringe zone or have a lot of splitting, Gallium Arsinide rf amps have much lower noise levels but of course they cost more.
 
I had to run coax from our upstairs bedroom to the basement for a 4K TV, and from the attic to the basement for FM radio and used Chinese (Guangda) RG6 "high performance 3.0GHz digital cable". It's been in service for a number of years with no issues. A big portion of it is outdoors, running down the house, around the side, and into the basement. Good 4K image and strong FM.
