If I said that I saw a McIntosh in the local coffee house you might roll your eyes and say, "Well of course you saw a Macintosh. Every coffeehouse in the world is full of hipsters on MacBooks, writing sector-disrupting apps for the iPhone and updating their tumbler blogs."

But what if I said I saw this particular McIntosh system?

I didn't look closely enough to make out the model numbers but it looks like a tuner/preamp and power amp. Also, I think that is an AR turntable and an early model Bose 901 hiding up in the corner.

I am not a McIntosh person, but I am MAC-curious. Anybody know the model numbers of these pieces?

Yeah, the system belongs to the owner, and so I am guessing that the first person to spill an entire caramel latte over that turntable will be looking for another job pretty quickly.

The box on top looks like the EQ for the old Bose 901's.
 
They should put a tambour sliding door or a Plexiglas door in front of that TT. Open only when changing a record.

OTOH it would give that 'sweet' sound to the records and lots of energy too. It may be the best use of a caramel latte IMO.

The Sightglass in SoMa also had a full vintage McIntosh system last time i was there (which was a while ago) with Bose 901's hanging from the ceiling.
 
I absolutely love "coffee house" sound when I hear it.
Here's a gent in Japan that I'd make a special (and will when I go next year) trip to hear. Kenrick sound. I'm sure the coffee is $25 a cup bet hey, Japan isn't cheap.
