Combining old and new

Hi Folks I’m revisiting my old love of vintage gear and am looking to mix old and new.
Basically I have

Arcam CD 73
Rotel RA04 Amplifier
B&W CM702 Speakers
As well as
Pioneer PL12D Tirntable
Technics SA5200 Receiver / Amp

my question is this, my cds sound great theough the Arcam and Rotel (although I haven’t tried arcam theough the Technics)
The turntable sounds great through the Technics as an amplifier. Ideally I’d like to have everything running through one amp ie Rotel so is there a way of getting the sound of the technics amp through the Rotel (on an aux Input) only when I’m listening to vinyl ?? And still have the arcam on cd input !!
Im not sure the twchnics is powerful enough to drive the B&w correctly but the Rotel is

Hi Nat thanks for responding. Yes it does I only want to run the turntable through the Technics as it sounds great really warm for the vinyl playback.
There is no pre amp out so I can’t think of a way to keep the warmth of the Technics and bus through the Rotel.
Seeing as the Technics is a receiver amp it doesn’t have an output other than rec out.
I have looked at a binding post splitter so I can switch between them outputs of each amp to feed the cm7 but I feel the Technics may be to small to run the cm7’s

You should be able to use the Tape Out connection from the Technics to any line level input on the NAD. That way you could use any/all of the inputs on the Technics to drive the Rotel.

+1 A pair of RCA cables from Tape Out on Technics to an Aux In on Rotel should get you going.

You are absolutely right not wanting to drive the B&W speaker with the Technics receiver. The amplifier section of the SA-5200 is not only very low powered, but it is also from the era of early solid state amplifier when the designer did not learn how to do it properly yet. On the other hand, the Rotel RA04 is highly regard in the UK audio press as a budget integrated amplifier, including its MM phono stage. I suspect that the warmness you heard from the SA5200 phono input is due to the high noise level and limited bandwidth. The RA04 will sound more analytical and reveal more fault of the phono recording, but it is more accurate.

Take your favorite vinyl record to a local audio dealership and ask to play it on their high end setup. You will find out what is the proper sounding of it. You should not need the Technics SA5200 whose phono is holding you back from enjoying better sound.

I do not have any piece of your audio gear. My opinion is based on expectation from reading reviews. BTW, depending on the size of your listening room, you may want to pair your B&W with a higher power amplifier.

Thanks everyone very much appreciated I have connected the tape outs on Technics to aux in on Rotel and it sounds fab thanks.
I don’t know if this is for another thread or not but I have noticed that the turntable (pioneer PL12D) gums and only stops when I press down on the platter so it’s firmly against the wood and it makes a kind of whirring pulsing noise even when the turntable some itches off it only stops when I pull the plug out of the mains socket. ?? ‍
