Comic Con... anyone go or is going?

I went to the Chicago Comic Con and was in awe at what and who I saw there. Comic conventions have come a long way. Here is a list of who was there. I got there before they opened and was one of the first hundred or so, there were no lines and it was easy to approach the actors. I found it kind of distasteful that they were charging anywhere from 30 to 75 bucks for personalized autograph, but hey get it while you can. Although I could see actors like, Ian Ziering (from 90210) charging cause how else is he gonna make a living... come to think of it WTF was he even doing at a comic con?? Oh and I couldn't believe how small most of those actors are.

BUFFY
Xander Harris - Nicholas Brendon, was awesome, funny and down to earth
Spike - James Marsters - cool guy.
Clare Kramer - Glory - smoking hot and very cool.

Bionic Woman
Richard Anderson - Oscar Goldman, he is very old and I felt bad for him cause he wasn't very popular at the show and seem very bored. I'd be bored too.
Lindsay Wagner - Jaime Sommers - time has been pretty good to her.

BSG
Michael Trucco - Samuel Anders - very very cool guy.
Rekha Sharma - Tory Foster, my gosh is she tiny
Kate Vemon - Ellen Tigh - very attractive, nothing like how they portray her in the show. Funny but she wouldn't leave my biceps alone. Kept wanting me to flex for her. Gotta love that.


Star Trek
Walter Koenig - Chekov - He was cool, gotten pretty old but hey who hasn't.
Brent Spiner - Data seemed very cool.
John de Lancie - Q - didn't talk to him but
Avery Brooks - Captain Sisko - (deep space 9)

Terminator
Michael Biehn - dainty man, but what a cool guy.
Linda Hamilton - needed a tan, but otherwise very cool.
Kristanna Loken - great kisser and liked my muscles!

Random
Lorenzo Lamas - can you sat cheese, but still pretty cool, I felt sorry for the guy cause he was being neglected.
Ian Ziering - 90210 - good thing he had some friends at his booth otherwise he would have had one lonely time.
Paris Themmen played Mike Teevee from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory
Jenilee Harrison - Played Cindy Snow on three's company. (time has not been good to her)
LInda Blair - Exorcist - wow, I can't believe how pretty she is, puke or no puke.
John Savage - Dark Angel, I never liked any of the characters he's played, always kind of an ass, funny cause he wasn't very friendly.


If you go, try and go on a friday morning - you'll beat the crowds and will not regret it.

Pretty impressive (and unbelievable) list of actors. Wish I could have made it. I would be interested in these guys especially. I mean come on. Biehn kicked your ass pretty good. Now that Comics are mainstream and all the Cons are big (insert product here) commercials us geeks will have to find a new refuge. Venus Flytrap breeding or something...

I never worry about paying for autographs either. Since I only charge $50 for any actor (including you) to get a picture with me. Female porn stars from the Golden Era get the 50% discount of course. I would never dream of charging Tom Baker either.

OK, you all are going to miss out on Gold and Silver metalized Metallic Comic books, limited edition vinyl, Guardians of the Galaxy cassettes, and a bunch of other cool junk. LOL.

I've been to one in Tulsa twice (2014-2015), absolutely the coolest thing to go to if you like sci-fi. Half of the fun is seeing everyone's cool costumes.

One of my co-workers and his wife go to a number of them on the east Coast - AwesomeCon here in DC among others -
lots of games for all the geeks - and - he got a VERY cool "working" lightsaber at one of them ...
(...cool handle, glowing tube, neat sounds)

Another friend in Alpharetta used to go to DragonCon in Georgia every year ...
tho he's recently moved out of state ...

The SDCC would be an awesome trip. Bucket List stuff for me. Like C.E.S. One day, hopefully. I guess I really need to research the East Coast Con's too. One in Richmond now, that would at least be close.

Edit: WizardCon no longer lists a Richmond Con. So, I assume attendance wasn't enough to warrant future Cons? I suppose I need to plan for an AwesomeCon trip.

I went to ECCC this year. That was better than I expected. Not sure I will go back next year or not as it is expensive and I already have two expensive hobbies (one of them is probably obvious). Still good experience, though I could not find any vinyl there (at least not in the form of records).

I haven't been to CC in years. The last one I went to I got to meet and chat with Tony Moore who was still the lead artist with The Walking Dead. I got to hang out and talk with Jim Starlin about The Silver Surfer and other cool things that he did when I was a kid. Without Starlin there would be no Thanos, Drax or Gamora for all the Guardians fans.. Met Jeph Loeb and geeked out. Rob Liefeld signed something I had, as did Michael Turner. The icing on the cake, however, was getting to meet Jim Lee, who was (and still is) the best artist of all time (sorry Jack Kirby, it's true). Uncanny X-Men was my absolute favorite as a kid and Jim was kind enough to sign my issue of #271, which has Wolverine (with Psylocke and Storm) fighting Cameron Hodge. I told Jim it was the best cover he'd ever made and he agreed. He probably agrees with every person for whatever cover they like, but for that split second, I felt special.

Although not the cover, this gives a glimpse of what Lee would put into his comics that had kids itching for a new issue every month:
